The B-Side

On the edge of an elongated white structure, “The B-Side” stands as a precise intervention in the space. The facade design is strictly structured: Four equally sized panels organize the composition and make it immediately legible. Black, red, white, CMYK tones, and finely graded shades of gray define the surface.

Mason works in the upper-left and lower-right panels, while WOW123 works in the opposite panels. Mason follows a strict typographic system: letters, spacing, and proportions form a cohesive structure. WOW123 works from his own system of organization based on test pattern structures: grids, color scales, and technical color fields are incorporated and extended onto the wall.

Artists

Both artists are deeply rooted in graffiti. Mason has had a decisive influence on the Dortmund scene for decades and is internationally regarded as one of the style-defining figures of this art form. WOW123 represents a unique position within contemporary graffiti and urban art practice. “The B-Side” brings these two artistic styles together for the first time in a collaborative work.
